Adopt a Barn Cat

Occasionally while helping to fix cats we run into situations where we end up with feral cats that can not be RETURNED (the R in TNR) to where they were trapped.

This could be for any number of reasons, but usually because the cats are no longer with feral caregivers or face imminent peril.

These cats are feral and need a home at a farm, horse stable, or other suitable outdoor environment with shelter. All the cats are healthy, have been spay/neutered and need an outdoor home where they can live out their lives in relative safety.

Barn cats are great working cats! In fact, they can be your barn’s new best friend. They will keep your barn and property rodent free. Utilizing cats for rodent control is a greener alternative than using toxic poisons to control rodents and pests.

Caretakers of barn cats will need to provide food & water daily, and keep them safe from extreme heat or cold. Relocating barn cats can be a bit tricky, so a brief transition period in a large kennel is required. Carol’s Ferals will guide you through this process and give you all the equipment you need to make your new barn cat become acclimated to his new home.

Why do you want to adopt barn cats?
How many barn cats would you like?

Most cats are hardcore feral (wild) but some are somewhat friendly or getting that way. Friendly cats will want to be with you, will follow you around and likely try to come into your home. If you want strong mousers that will keep to themselves and take care of business, feral is the best way to go.
